SettlementFor buyers · after the close

From winning bid to your roastery.

When an auction closes, each winning bid becomes an award with its own invoice. You pay the lot’s official exporter directly, the exporter ships, and you confirm receipt.

uncrack issues the paperwork and keeps the record. It never holds your money.

01Status

Four statuses, one direction.

Every award moves through the same four statuses, in order and one step at a time. The exporter updates them; you see each change on My Page and on your invoice.

  1. Payment pending
    Invoice · Awaiting payment
    Set at the close

Your invoice is ready on My Page, with the exporter’s bank details once a verified exporter is linked.

  2. Payment confirmed

Your transfer has arrived. The payment date is printed on the invoice.

  3. Shipped

    The exporter marks it

Your lot is on its way. Once a tracking number is added, it shows on your won lot with the carrier.

  4. Delivered

The coffee has reached you. The award is complete.

Received ✓

Your step: once the award is Shipped, use Confirm received on My Page. A Received ✓ badge with the date appears on your won lot.

Statuses only move forward. None can be skipped.

02The invoice

One invoice, three readers.

You, the lot’s exporter and the house see the same invoice, built from the auction record. Open it from your won lot on My Page.

UA, the auction code, then your award number. Quote it as the reference on your transfer.

  2. Status

Follows the same four steps as My Page: Awaiting payment, then Paid with the date, Shipped and Delivered.

  3. Seller · exporter

The official exporter for your lot, with their verified status and contact details.

  4. Total

Winning bid per kilo × the lot’s confirmed weight. Shipping and duties are arranged directly with the exporter.

  5. Remit to

The exporter’s verified bank details. They appear only once the exporter is verified, and only to you, the exporter and the house.

  6. Every value on this sample is made up. Your real invoice is on My Page.
03The exporter

Your seller is at origin. Every linked exporter is verified.

How an auction page shows its official exporter when one exporter handles the whole auction.
  • Official exporter of origin

The export house that sells your lot at origin. When one exporter handles a whole auction, the auction page names them and links to their public page.

  • Verified before linking

Business registration, export licence and bank account are checked before approval. Only verified exporters can be linked to an auction or a lot, and your payment details on My Page carry their ✓ Verified Exporter badge.

  • Bank details locked

After verification, bank details change only through a request the house reviews and approves.

  • One exporter, or one per lot

An auction can run with a single exporter or a different exporter for each lot. Your invoice always names the exporter of your lot.

04uncrack’s role

We run the floor. We never touch the money.

uncrack runs the auction and the paperwork around it. Our commission comes from the exporter, not from you.

uncrack does

  • Runs the auction and creates each award at the close
  • Issues your invoice from the auction record, on behalf of the exporter
  • Keeps the status record that you and the exporter both see
  • Charges its commission to the exporter, never to you

uncrack doesn’t

  • Receive, hold or forward your payment
  • Charge buyers a premium
  • Show bank details on any public page
  • Arrange shipping or import duties
No buyer’s premium. You pay the winning bid × weight to the exporter, and nothing to uncrack.
05What you’ll need

Ready before you bid.

Confirmed bids are binding, and settlement is a bank transfer and a shipment. Have these in place before you bid.

  • A buyer account

Sign up with your company and country, then confirm your email. Your paddle number is issued right away.

  • Business details on file

The company, name, country and email you sign up with are printed on your invoice, so enter them as they should appear.

  • International bank transfer

Winning bids are in US dollars per kilo. You’ll pay by bank transfer to the exporter, using their SWIFT/BIC and account or IBAN.

  • Shipping and import plans

Shipping and import duties are arranged directly with the exporter, so have your freight and import details ready.

06FAQ

Settlement questions.

Short answers, taken from how the platform works today.

Who do I pay, and how?

The official exporter for your lot, by bank transfer to the verified bank details on your invoice. uncrack never receives or holds your payment.

How is the total worked out?

Your winning bid per kilo multiplied by the lot’s confirmed weight. If the weight isn’t confirmed yet, the total shows as pending until it is.

Do buyers pay a commission or premium?

No. There is no buyer’s premium. uncrack’s commission is charged to the exporter, not added to your invoice.

Where do I find my invoice?

On My Page, under Won lots. Open Payment details, then Open invoice. You can print it or save it as a PDF.

What if my invoice shows no bank details?

Bank details appear only once the lot’s exporter is linked and verified. Until then, the invoice will be provided by the presenter or exporter.

Can an exporter change their bank details?

Not on their own. After verification, any change is a request the house reviews and approves. Always pay to the details on your uncrack invoice.

I won together with partners. What changes?

Add up to 20 company or roastery names on My Page and they appear next to yours in the public results. The invoice and payment stay with the winning account.

When are results made public?

When the house confirms them. Unless the house holds an auction’s results back, that happens automatically 24 hours after the close.

How will I know my coffee has shipped?

The status changes to Shipped. When a tracking number is added, you get a notice and the carrier and number appear on your won lot, linked to the carrier’s tracking page when we recognise the carrier.

When can I confirm receipt?

Once the award is marked Shipped. Use Confirm received on My Page and the date is recorded on your won lot.

What if a lot closes below its reserve?

No award is created, so there is nothing to settle. If yours was the highest bid, the lot page shows ‘Highest bid — reserve not met’.

Direct settlement

When you win, everything you need to pay the exporter and follow your coffee is on My Page.
